We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team at our manufacturing facility in Northampton.  

You will be part of the team providing an efficient and effective maintenance and engineering support service to the predominately production areas of our plant, all the while ensuring that all areas of the plant are in sound working order.

The job encompasses all aspects of general mechanical engineering work, (including basic electrical work) which is conducted in a flexible and pro-active manner to ensure that key efficiencies, cost, quality and customer service levels of the company are met.

The ideal candidate for our Company will:

• have completed an apprenticeship as a Mechanical Fitter and have a minimum of 2-3 years working experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a fast paced manufacturing environment, ideally in a similar industry,
• possess sound knowledge and proven competence in general maintenance skills, such as fault analysis and problem solving,
• have working knowledge of modern control systems, experience of AC & DC drive systems preferable,
• have the ability to operate conventional machine tools along with working knowledge and experience with hydraulics & pneumatics,
• have basic electrical, welding and fabrication skills,
• possess the interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills needed to carry out the function effectively and to liaise other plant functions,
• have fluent English, both spoken and written,
• possess a “can-do” attitude.
